Tussar

Tussar is a medium to heavy weight silk made from free-range silkworms of the Antheraea mylitta or Antheraca proylei species. The silk is produced from a special silk moth, which feeds mostly on oak leaves instead of mulberry. Tussar silk is spun by the worm in a single-shelled, oval cocoon, with a fine-grained, hard, non-flossy shell. The cocoons are generally yellow or grey and are hard & compact.
